What should the next destination be we asked ourselves back in Denmark during our planning? Browsing through a lot of internet pages, seeking inspiration we came across the small camping site of Bar’coquebrado. It looked like a nice variation of the places we have stayed so far and also still situated on the Nicoya Peninsula we decided for this place hoping it would give us some different jungle discoveries.
The place was a family buisness and was famous for its homemade pizzas. We also found great joy in the smoothies the bar had to offer.
The beaches
The coast offers many different beaches and everyone you ask will they they have a favorite spot. Here are a few of the beaches we visited, where I remember their names
Above are a few selected impressions from Playa Carrillo, Playa Barrigona and Playa Barco Quebrado.
We spend our time along the coast and driving on the small dusty roads trying out the AWD. The atmposphere of the place really indulgded the Costa Rician “Pura Vida”. At the tent we relaxed in the shade of the trees and going exploring on the small paths without any map or purpose had also a certain freedom feeling to it. Also with no shops around we did not have to worry about filling up the refrigerator.
