In January 2023 I had a chance to visit my colleagues in Atlanta, GA. The factory and offices are located in the city of Roswell in Fulton County north of Atlanta downtown and about 50-60km from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The flight was from Billund via Amsterdam to Atlanta, quite uneventful. The rental car was located and arrival at the hotel after a long trip.
The purpose was also to visit a supplier and see their facility. They were located in Lawrenceville about 50km from Roswell. The drive between the two cities were very beautiful hilly road through the forest. I also passed by an area in Duluth with some korean churches.
Breakfast at the hotel was not that great so we would pick up something on the way, usually it would be at Starbucks, there is nothing to keep the jetlag at bay like a cold brew. I managed to take a morning run to level out some of the intake from all the fastfood. While being there the temperature fell just below 0 degrees at night and would go up to around 10 degrees in the daytime. There would be no wind so the mornings were perfect suited for an outdoor activity. Everywhere the sidewalk was paved, so I felt very safe on the roads. One night we were taken out to a really nice restaurant, where a real American treat was in store for us. I had a 14 oz prime rib and my colleague had a pasta. These dishes would last the entire weekend, anyway we finished if off with a dessert also suitable for the whole family, we shared though.
Celebration of Lunar New Year Festival at Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain was formed from upwelling magma. It is the largest piece of exposed granite in the world and the formation is called a monadnock. The walk up was very easy as the rock provided a very flat trek but closing in on the top the elevation got steeper. At the top you had a very nice 360 degree view. The cable car took us down to the park with the attractions, however this was on the oppersite side from our parking spot.
The main reason for going to the park was to take part in the celebration of the lunar new year, year of the rabbit.
