With the car fully packed with supplies and warm clothes we started the 2-hour drive to Frederikshavn where we would board the ferry to Göteborg. It landed at 11:30 and a 6 hours we would spend on the road before reaching our destination at Sälen.

Being one of the final cars to reach the ferry it was a challenge to find a seat, so we placed ourselves with the 1-armed bandits. The feeling of travelling freely again made up for the missing comfort :). However we were lucky to find some empty seats eventually.

The crossing of Kattegat was without issues in calm weather. The drive was also uneventful except of a few hours were we saw some snowfall which lowered our speed extending the duration with 1,5 hours, but we arrived safely to our destination at Lindvallen.

The following day we were ready try our ski. In the first couple of days we had a good amount of snowall day which was a perfect for our activities for the week. Also this year we were joined by Camilla’s sister and her boyfriend, who took a direct bus from Copenhagen.

Valles Skischool

The skischool for Stinne was very succesful this year. We had a few training sessions on the small conveyor belt on Sunday before it started, which went really well. The following 5 days with the instructor were perfect, she loved it and picked up both skills and speed during this time.

The grand finale was the gold medal and the concluding tug of war with Valle, the mascot.

Life in Sweden

As always the car was packed with food and supplies from Denmark. This proved to be very useful as we do not want to spend our time doing the groceries after returning from the pistes. This left us with time to engage in various board and elctronic games.

The first couple of days is was cloudy with limited visiblity but there were also a few days with clear skies and sunshine
